Lucas Wen Tang

Lucas Tang is a technologist, product designer, and founder working at the intersection of light, health, and human performance. He is the CEO of Lumos, a healthtech company developing smart glasses that deliver clinically validated light therapy to improve sleep, mood, and cognitive performance.

Lucas dedicated his master’s research to clinical trials validating Lumos’ effectiveness in real-world settings. His work has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Minister’s Award of Excellence from the Government of Canada and the First in Class Engineering Award from the University of Waterloo.

Prior to Lumos, Lucas led innovation at Apple, Xiaomi, and Meta, where he helped shape next-generation wearable and mixed reality technologies

He also plays an active role in shaping global regulatory standards. Lucas is a member of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE), contributing to light safety and human-centric lighting standards. Through the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), he serves on multiple committees—ranging from AI in Health Care to Sleep Monitors—and co-developed the AI Trustworthiness Standard in Health Care.

With Lumos, Lucas is building a new category of biologically intelligent wearables—designed not just to measure health, but to enhance it using the power of light.
